Relocation Services / HOW TO OBTAIN A WORK PERMIT?

We, at SOLUTION, will help you to apply for your Work Permit if you decide to work in Turkey.  You are entitled to work in Turkey so just to enlighten you, we have prepared a list of things to do before making an application.   Our team will introduce you to an experienced law firm which will follow all the procedures on your behalf at a very reasonable cost.

The Fourth Article in THE LAW ON WORK PERMITS FOR FOREIGNERS states:  "Unless otherwise provided for in bilateral or multilateral agreements to which Turkey is a party, foreigners are obliged to get Work Permits before they start to work either for a company or independently in Turkey."

Foreigners residing outside Turkey can apply to the Turkish Consulate in the country where they reside for their Work Permit. The Consulate then forwards the application directly to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in Turkey. Foreigners who have a valid Residency Permit in Turkey - or through their employers - are entitled to make an application directly to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. If the Ministry grants a Work Permit, it will be valid only when the required Working Visa and Residency Permit is obtained.

Below is the list of things to do for your application.

After these steps, the appropriate documents will be submitted to the Ministry - and the granting of a Work Permit by the Ministry is awaited.

If your application is successful, you will be granted a 1-year Work Permit, on condition that you do the same job in the same company during the validity of the Permit.

Your work permit may be extended to 3 years if you continue to work for the same company and do the same job.   At the end of the 3-year period, you will be entitled to a 6-year Permit, and will then be able to work for any employer you choose.  Any time spent outside Turkey during the validity of your Work Permit should not exceed 6 months.

If you reside in Turkey for eight continuous years, and work for 6 years, you will be entitled to make application for an indefinite Work Permit.
